Electronic invoicing and Dolibarr
What is it ?
Once implemented (in France it starts in 2026), all invoices exchanged between companies must be in electronic format with structured data (xml format) and must pass through an intermediary service (called a “Partner Dematerialization Portal” PDP in France).
In practical terms, this means that invoices created by Dolibarr (PDF files) can no longer be sent directly to the customer by email ; they must be sent to an intermediary service via a computer system. Invoices will contain structured data (XML ; modules for creating invoices with this data are already available for Dolibarr ).
This process will be regulatory and will be generalized to all B2B exchanges in France and more broadly in Europe, because it is the application of a European directive.
